The Founder
Vanessa Dennis is the Clinical Director of Dennis Counseling Group and established the practice in 2011. With 30 years of experience in the mental health field, she works with high-functioning adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, and persistent relational patterns.
Many of her clients are insightful and capable, yet feel stuck in ways that don’t align with how they see themselves. They may understand their patterns, but still find themselves reacting emotionally or relationally in ways that feel difficult to change.
Her work helps clients move beyond insight alone by addressing how the brain and nervous system store and process experiences.
Vanessa integrates EMDR therapy and trauma-informed approaches to help clients process experiences that continue to influence present-day responses.
Her approach is direct and supportive, helping clients gain clarity while creating meaningful, lasting change.

Annie Hoober, LPC
Annie Hoober is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and patterns that feel difficult to shift, even with insight.
Many of Annie's clients are thoughtful and self-aware, often professionals, young adults, or women used to managing things on their own, but still feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, emotional reactivity, or relationship patterns.
Annie’s approach focuses on helping clients better understand the underlying motivations driving their experiences while developing more effective, intentional ways to respond through EMDR and expressive therapies. Annie has a particular interest in art therapy and helping clients work through trauma using artistic modalities.
She brings warmth and insight to her work, creating a supportive, grounded, and encouraging space.
